The objective of this course is to provide the roadmap from planning to certification against ISO 14001. It is intended to ensure that participants understand the core requirements of ISO 14001 as well as the financial and human resources needed to ensure its success.

This course seeks to provide knowledge and practical skills required for auditing environmental management systems in line with the requirements of ISO 14001.

• Review of ISO 14001 requirements
• Understanding environmental aspects, impacts and their significance
• Defining the audit scope, frequency, methodologies, responsibilities, and requirements
• How to carry out documentation review, interviews, and site inspection
• Preparation of audit reports
• Practical exercises

The essential objective of this course is to refresh and/or review the structure & basic requirements of ISO 14001 & enable the delegates to plan & conduct the third party external audits. The training program will also provide both technical knowledge and practical skills essential to become competent Lead Auditor.

• Roles of certifiers, auditors and accreditation
• ISO 14000 series, BS 7750 and EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) 
• Methodologies for aspects identification
• Process and criteria for establishing significance of environmental impacts

• Principles, processes and techniques of ISO 14001 EMS auditing, in line with ISO 19011 
• Written Examination
